Bihar Politics: Just a day after the Bihar Assembly election results were announced, RJD leader and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya quit politics and severed her ties with the family.
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Rohini Acharya announced her decision to quit politics and also added that she is "disowning" her family.
"I’m quitting politics and I’m disowning my family … This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do …nd I’m taking all the blame," she said in the post.

Earlier this year, Lalu Yadav’s son Tej Pratap Yadav was expelled from the party for six years. He was also removed from the family after a photo of him with a woman, allegedly his partner, was posted on his Facebook handle.

Rohini Acharya's Earlier Challenge
According to an IANS report, dated September 24, 2025, after Tej Pratap Yadav’s earlier outbursts, Rohini Acharya took a rebellious stance, using social media to voice her displeasure and issue a bold challenge to her critics.
In a strongly worded post on X, Rohini wrote, “I openly challenge all those with wicked thoughts and those who encourage such people. If anyone can prove that I have ever made any request to anyone for myself or anyone else, and that the claim that I donated my kidney to my respected father is a lie, then I will withdraw from political and public life.”
She further demanded that those spreading misinformation must publicly apologise if their allegations cannot be substantiated.
“If those making accusations cannot prove their lies and propaganda, they should have the courage to publicly apologise to me and every mother, sister, and daughter of the country… and pledge never to spread such false information again,” she added.
In a move that has fuelled speculation about her political future, Rohini had reportedly unfollowed all political leaders and family members on social media.
Tensions Within RJD
The tension began during the Bihar Adhikar Yatra, when Sanjay Yadav, a close aide of Mahagathbandhan's CM face Tejashwi Yadav, was seen occupying the front seat of a campaign bus --traditionally reserved for top leadership.
Rohini indirectly highlighted the incident by sharing a social media comment about it without adding her own remarks.

In the NDA, the BJP won 89 seats, JD(U) won 85, LJPRV won 19, HAMS won five, and RLM won four seats.
In Mahagathbandhan, Congress got 6 seats, RJD won 25 seats, CPI(ML)(L) - two, IIP - one, and CPI(M) one seat.
AIMIM won five seats, and BSP got one seat. Jan Suraaj failed to get any seats.
