Ministry of External affaisrs on Friday has expressed concern over reports of Indian nationals serving in the Russian army, confirming that 27 citizens are currently involved. The government said it is in close touch with their families and has taken up the matter with Moscow.
"As per our information, 27 Indian nationals are presently serving in the Russian army. We are in close touch with their family members in the matter. We have raised this issue strongly to release our citizens... We once again strongly urge all Indian nationals to stay away from the offers being made to serve in the Russian army, as they are fraught with danger and risk to life," he said.

India on H-1B Visa
MEA also said that they are in touch with the US administration over the H-1B visa fee hike. Addressing the media, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that India has seen the notice by the US Department of Homeland Security regarding the proposed rulemaking related to H-1B visa. India also reacted to the fresh tariffs saying that the concerned ministries are examining the impact.
The MEA spokesperson said that India would remain engaged with all concerned, including the industry, hoping that the concerned factors would receive due consideration.
“We have seen the notice by the US Department of Homeland Security regarding the proposed rulemaking. I understand that stakeholders, including the industry, have one month to provide their comments,” said Jaiswal.
