Comes After 2023 Security Breach
This fresh intrusion attempt is just under two years since a serious security lapse on December 13, 2023, the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack. In that episode, two youths, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, fell from the Lok Sabha visitors' gallery into the house during a live debate. They let out yellow-coloured gas from canisters and chanted slogans.
Meanwhile, two other individuals, Amol Dhanraj Shinde and Neelam Azad, were arrested in front of the complex for staging a similar protest. A fifth suspect, Lalit Jha, and a sixth, Mahesh Kumawat, were also arrested later.
The Delhi High Court recently released Azad and Kumawat on a number of stringent conditions. The two are not allowed to talk to the media or post about the event on social media. They are required to report to their native police stations three times a week and cannot travel out of the Delhi NCR area without the court's leave.
