In a significant operation on Tuesday, security forces successfully detected and neutralized an improvised explosive device (IED) in Shopian district, South Kashmir, preventing a potential disaster. The IED, concealed within a pressure cooker, was found in Kashwa Chitragam in the Zainapora sub-division.

Upon discovery, security personnel promptly cordoned off the area, enabling the bomb disposal squad to safely assess and dismantle the threat. The coordinated efforts of the Army’s 1st Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Shopian police, and the 178 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) played a crucial role in preventing what could have been a major tragedy.

Later that day, security forces uncovered another suspicious object resembling an IED in Pulwama district. The discovery was made in Pinglish Nagwadi, Tral, prompting immediate action to secure the area and summon the bomb disposal team for further investigation and neutralization.

Following the successful neutralization of the IED in Shopian, security forces discovered another suspicious object resembling an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Pinglish Nagwadi area of Tral, Pulwama district. In response, security forces immediately cordoned off the area.

The bomb disposal squad has been called in to safely dispose of the explosive. Meanwhile, traffic in the area has been diverted to prevent any risk to local residents.
