A devastating cloudburst struck the Nandanagar Ghat area of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand late Wednesday night, leaving at least seven people missing and causing widespread damage. Six houses were buried under debris as heavy rainfall triggered destruction in the region, prompting urgent rescue and relief operations by authorities.

The incident took place in the Kuntri Lagafali ward, where heavy rainfall triggered debris flow that buried six houses. According to Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari, immediate rescue operations were launched with teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local police, and district authorities rushing to the spot. Two individuals have been rescued so far, while search operations continue for the missing.
While speaking to ANI, Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said, "A cloudburst caused damage in the Nandanagar Ghat area of Chamoli district on Wednesday night. Six houses were buried under debris in the Kuntri Langafali ward of Nandanagar."
Chamoli District Magistrate Tiwari said relief efforts are ongoing, with a focus on clearing debris and ensuring the safety of residents in the affected areas.
