Indians are at the helm of businesses all over the world. Here is a list of ten Indian-origin CEOs who run some of the world's most powerful corporations that are of Indian descent.

Laxman Narasimhan grew up in Pune, India. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from Savitribai Phule University, an MA in German and International Studies from The Lauder Institute, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. He will be Starbucks' next CEO.

Shantanu Narayen was born in Hyderabad and attended Osmania University before moving on to Bowling Green State University and the University of California. Shantanu Narayen was President and Chief Operating Officer of Adobe Inc. before being named CEO in December 2007.

Nikesh Arora attended Boston College and Northeastern University after graduating from the Indian Institute of Technology, BHU. In June 2018, Nikesh Arora was named CEO and Chairman of Palo Alto Networks.

Arvind Krishna, an IIT Kanpur alumnus, went on to study at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In April 2020, he was appointed CEO of IBM, and in January 2021, he was appointed Chairman.

Leena Nair is another recent Indian-origin CEO to make her mark, having been appointed as Chanel's first female and youngest CEO in December of this year. Leena Nair, an alumnus of the XLRI-Xavier School of Management and the Walchand College of Engineering, previously served as Unilever's Chief Human Resource Officer.

Parag Agrawal, a recent addition to the list, is an IIT Bombay graduate who went on to study at Stanford University. When Twitter's founder, Jack Dorsey, stepped down in November, he was succeeded as CEO.

When it comes to Indian-origin CEOs leading global companies, Sundar Pichai's name stands out in the crowd. He graduated from IIT Kharagpur and became CEO of Google in 2015 before being named CEO of Alphabet Inc, Google's parent company, in December 2019.

Satya Nadella is another well-known Silicon Valley figure who received his undergraduate degree from the Manipal University of Technology before going on to study at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Chicago. When Satya Nadella became the Executive Chairman and CEO of Microsoft in 2014, he joined the ranks of influential Indian-origin CEOs.

Amrapali Gan was born in Mumbai and attended California State University. She was named CEO of Only Fans in December 2021, succeeding founder Tim Stokely in the role.

Jayshree Ullal, who was born in London but raised in India, attended Santa Clara University and San Francisco State University. She has been the CEO and President of Arista Networks since October 2008.
