The event marked the first festival since the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla, featuring two Guinness World Record, first one for the display of over 25 lakh diyas along the Saryu River and the second for simultaneous aarti by thousands. With 18 vibrant tableaux illustrating Lord Ram's life, Deepotsav honored Ayodhya’s cultural heritage, drawing millions of devotees and tourists to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak were part of a grand celebration as fireworks lit up Ayodhya's night sky during the Deepotsav festivities on Wednesday. This year’s Deepotsav is particularly special, marking the first celebration since the sacred 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s temple, drawing massive crowds and visitors from across the country.

The event saw over 25 lakh diyas placed along the banks of the Saryu River, creating a spellbinding view. The rows of lamps lit up the riverbanks, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness. The spectacle left attendees awestruck, reinforcing the festival’s message of unity and harmony. The diyas, flickering in unison, created a mesmerizing display visible from far and wide.



An unforgettable highlight of Deepotsav 2024 was the achievement of two Guinness World Records, presented to Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Shekhawat. The records set included the most people performing aarti simultaneously and the largest display of oil lamps. These recognitions have now placed Ayodhya's Deepotsav celebrations on the global stage, marking it as one of the largest festivals of light worldwide.

Adding to the spiritual fervor, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath performed the traditional aarti on the banks of the Saryu, infusing the event with a powerful sense of devotion. This ritual was performed in front of thousands of onlookers, who joined in the prayers and festivities. As Ayodhya glowed under the warm lights of countless diyas, it was clear that the spirit of Diwali was alive in every corner of the city.


The five-day Deepotsav festival commemorates Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya after 14 years in exile, drawing millions of devotees, tourists, and residents who come together to honor Ayodhya’s cultural and spiritual heritage. With every diya lit, the city pays homage to the triumph of good over evil, drawing deeper connections with Lord Ram’s legacy.
