Indian Railways to Redevelop Train Stations With Airport-Like Design, Check Top Cities: IN PICS

In 2022, the Centre announced that the New Delhi Railway Station will be renovated at a cost of Rs 4,700 crore. This station in the national capital handles 3.6 million passengers on average every day.

Among multiple development projects in Bengaluru is the redevelopment project of Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station. This development will proceed in a phased manner with an investment of Rs 480 crores.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus will also undergo a revamp to make the railway station more modern and up-to-date. It is to be noted that this development is worth Rs 18,000 crore.

The redevelopment of the Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station will likely start bby the end of April, along with multiple other stations like Sabarmati, Gandhigram, Maninagar, Chandlodia, and Asarwa.

The Southern Railway arm of the Indian Railways has identified the second-largest station of the city to be developed to international standards with modern amenities.

The government has sanctioned Rs 354 crore for the redevelopment of Udaipur Railway Station. The station will be revamped in five phases and is expected to be completed in 3 years.

The Visakhapatnam Railway Station is to be developed with an investment of Rs 446.41 crore to make it capable of handling up to 15,000 passengers every day.
