Yashasvi Jaiswal Breaks Virender Sehwag’s Record, Becomes First Indian To…

India’s star batter Yashasvi Jaiswal created history as he achieved a huge feat on Day 2 of the 5th Test between India and Australia in Sydney.

The left-hand batter made 22 off 35 balls before he was dismissed by Scott Boland.

Jaiswal started his innings by smashing 16 runs in the first over of Mitchell Starc.

Jaiswal recorded the most number of runs by an Indian in the first over of a Test innings.

The Mumbai-based batter broke the record of former India batter Virender Sehwag, who made 13 runs against Pakistan in 2005.

In the recently passed Border Gavaskar Trophy, Jaiswal made 391 runs in his maiden Australian tour. 

Rohit Sharma who is the Indian skipper is also standing at the second spot alongside Sehwag. 

Rohit collected 13 runs off Pat Cummins back in 2023.
