Despite completing a law degree at Pace University, Patel initially struggled to secure a high-profile job at a law firm. He started his career as a public defender, gaining extensive experience over nearly nine years before moving on to roles within the US Justice Department.

Kash Patel’s educational journey includes an undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond and a Certificate in International Law from University College London Faculty of Laws in the UK. His background in law has been instrumental in shaping his career trajectory.

Kash Patel’s legal career began as a public defender handling complex criminal cases, including murder, drug trafficking, and financial crimes. This foundation led him to a role in the Department of Justice, where he focused on terrorism cases involving high-profile groups like Al-Qaeda and ISIS.

In 2017, Patel joined the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, working with Republican Congressman Devin Nunes on investigations into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US election. He later served as Chief of Staff to Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller.

Currently, Patel serves on the board of directors for Trump Media and Technology Group, which owns Truth Social, a social media platform closely linked to Trump's network. Kash Patel once criticized media coverage of the Ram Temple consecration in Ayodhya, accusing Washington newspapers of ignoring historical context. Kash Patel said that when Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha took place in Ayodhya, and PM Modi went there, the Washington newspapers covered only the last 50 years of history.
