Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, a right-handed batter, plays for India in Test and ODI cricket in international cricket. He retired from T20I cricket after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 and the Player of the Match in the Final in the Caribbean. Kohli plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Delhi in domestic cricket.

Kohli, who is regarded as one of the greatest hitters of all time, is the fourth-highest run-scorer in international cricket after Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting. He holds the record for the most centuries in ODIs and has the second most centuries in international cricket all time.

Kohli is the IPL's highest run-scorer and the only one with more than 8000 runs. He also holds the record for most IPL centuries (8) as well as most runs in a season (973 runs in 2016).

The star batter captained RCB full-time from 2013 to 2021 and led them to the final in the 2016 season, when they lost to SRH.

Kohli was a member of the Indian team that won the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, 2011 Cricket World Cup, 2013 Champions Trophy and 2024 T20 World Cup. He also led India to win the ICC Test mace three consecutive times in 2017, 2018, and 2019 and took the team to greater heights in the longest format of the game.

Kohli has won 10 ICC Awards, which makes him the most awarded player in International cricket history. He won the ICC ODI Player of the Year award four times in 2012, 2017, 2018, and 2023. The legendary batter also won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, given to the ICC Cricketer of the Year, on two occasions, in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

In 2018, Kohli became the first player to win both ICC ODI and Test Player of the Year awards in the same year.
