CJI Gavai Calls For Expansion Of Legal Aid, Strengthen Legal Education In Rural Colleges
Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, speaking at V.M. Salgaocar College of Law in Goa, emphasized the need to expand legal aid to remote areas and that rural law colleges need stronger infrastructure. He pointed out that people can only use their rights if they first know about them. Delhi High Court issues directions to district courts for speedy justice
The administrative directions were issued by Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal to ensure proper implementation of civil procedure code provisions related to adjournments, timelines as well as electronic filing of cases and service of summonses.
