Afghanistan Earthquake: A powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan early Monday, killing at least 622 people and injuring over 1,500. The quake was followed by aftershocks ranging from 4.0 to 5.0 magnitude. A subsequent 4.7 magnitude quake occurred at a depth of 140 km near the original epicenter, officials reported.
